Prescription Medications: A current prescription label, with the child’s full name and exact dose to be given, must be presented to the center. The Medication Administration Form must indicate the exact time (ie., 10 A.M. and 2 P.M.) the medication is to be given to the child.
Non-Prescription Medications: Medication must be in the original container and appropriate for the age and weight of the child. We will not exceed recommended dosage nor administer medications where the label states, “Ask a Doctor” unless authorized in writing by a physician. Non-prescription medications may be administered for no more than three consecutive days at a time.
Modified Diets: Authorization to eliminate an entire food group from a child’s diet must be obtained, in writing, from a physician. If the child has a food allergy a Health / Physical Care Plan must be completed by the parent / guardian. The parent / guardian directly trains all staff (including kitchen personnel) in the dietary needs of the child. This plan is reviewed and updated at least annually.
Topical products: Written authorization is required for the use of diaper cream, sunscreen, lotions for rash, and all other topical products. Authorizations for preventive topical products are valid for one year. Authorizations for treatment of skin irritations are valid for fourteen consecutive days.
